Thin Walled Beams-Forces and Moments

A beam can be loaded by multiple forces and three moments, one torque and two bending moments (with units of [Nm]). Each force has three components (axial, horizontal, vertical) and it is applied at a position x, y, z. Because of this generality, the forces may generate additional torque and bending moment. Further, CADEC calculates the location of the shear center, and forces can generate additional torque with respect to it. This is because of the generality of the cross section geometry and generality of material properties. The total of all the forces and moments (input and calculated) are displayed in this page.
