Micromechanics-Unidirectional-Longitudinal Modulus-Rule of Mixtures

The longitudinal modulus (sometimes called axial modulus) is the coefficient in Young's stress-strain equation along the direction of the fibers. Rule Of Mixtures (ROM) is the simplest method to predict the longitudinal modulus of a lamina. The main assumption in ROM is that the strains in the direction of the fibers are the same in the matrix and the fiber. This implies that the fiber-matrix bond is perfect.
