Macromechanics-Degraded Material-Thermal and Hygroscopic Loads
Thermal loads are stress resultants that produce the same strains in a laminate as a change of temperature. Note that bonded laminas cannot expand or contract independently of each other but as a group. This is explained in section 6.6 of the textbook. Hygroscopic loads are stress resultants that produce the same strains in a laminate as a change of moisture content. The combined thermal and hygroscopic effects are called hygrothermal effects. To access this resource please sign in or register (It's free!).
