Failure-Degraded Material

In CADEC, failure prediction is done for intact and degraded material. A degraded material is used to predict laminate ultimate strength, or last ply failure (LPF). We have implemented Hashin, interacting, maximum stress and maximum strain failure criteria. Insitu effects on apparent strength can be included or not, at user's choice. The damage factor df is a user's choice. Laminate, Shell Load, and Environment are selected from those defined previously and saved to the user's database. The strength ratio R (similar to a safety factor) for each lamina, as well as the LPF for the laminate are calculated. The failure mode in each ply is predicted and indicated graphically on the page. Detailed numerical results can be exported to Excel at the user request. Implemented failure criteria:
