Failure-Intact Material

Intact material failure is used to predict first ply failure (FPF). In CADEC, failure prediction is done for intact and degraded material. A intact (virgin) material is used to predict laminate damage initiation, or first ply failure (FPF). We have implemented the Hashin Failure Criterion, the Interacting Failure Criterion, the Maximum Stress Failure Criterion, and the Maximum Strain Failure Criterion. In-situ [insitu] effects on apparent strength can be included or not, at user's choice. Laminate, Shell Load, and Environment are selected from those defined previously and saved to the user's database. The strength ratio R (similar to a safety factor) for each lamina, as well as the FPF for the laminate are calculated. The damage mode in each ply is predicted and indicated graphically on the page. Detailed numerical results can be exported to Excel at the user request.
